Haunted House

When I was born till about the time I was in middle school my family lived in this old house. My grandma now lives there. This house is located in a neighborhood where all the houses are the same. They are cookie cutter houses. They are very old. All houses have the same structure. They are all brick houses. You enter the house through the living room and right across is the kitchen. Then by the living room their is this long hallway that leads to the rooms. But most houses in this neighborhood have been renovated so that they no longer resemble the old brick houses, except my grandmas.

My grandmas house is still the same as when they very first built this house. It even has the same carpet and wallpaper. The carpet is a brownish red, the wallpaper is this dark flower pattern. All the lighting fixtures and doors have not been changed. When you first walk inside the house it just feels old and like an antique. Its almost as if you go back in time. When I use to live there I hated it. The house feels like it has had many occupants. And you cannot help but to get a spooky feeling. The thing that terrified me the most was to look down the long hallway because the lighting fixtures were so old it was very dim in the hallway and at the very end of the hallway there is this huge old mirror. As a child I was scared of what I might see in the mirror.

Everyone in my family that has ever stayed at my grandmas house has a scary story to tell about an experience they have had. Whether it be feeling a presence, hearing a noise, seeing a shadow. Not one person does not get spooked. People do not like to be there alone at night. Now that I am older I realize its just the features of the house that make it feel old and because it is so old it feels like it just has to be haunted. But even though I know this and I lived there for so long, I still get scared to be there at night. Especially to look down that dreaded long hallway.
